Lit – Con Carnivalesque 2024
The Department of English at Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru, organized a mesmerizing literary event, Lit-Con Carnivalesque, which was held on 08th of February 2024. Embracing the theme of a carnival, the carnival immersed the spectators in a world of literary marvel. Fr. Dr. Augustine George, the esteemed Principal of Kristu Jayanti College, inaugurated the literary carnival, emphasizing its profound significance in shaping the aspirations. His words resonated with the audience, underlining the event's pivotal role in fostering a deep appreciation for literature and the arts.
Lit-Con-Carnivalesque
was an immersive event, offering a vibrant platform where literature
enthusiasts could delve into the rich intersections of creativity and
imagination. The students were treated to a display featuring eleven
captivating literary themes. From the enchanting realms of Fairy Tales to the
gripping suspense of Crime & Thriller, the boundless realms of Science
Fiction, the timeless allure of Mythology, and the complexities of Love and
Romance, each theme provided a unique journey for exploration. Moreover, themes
like War and Conflict, Film Adaptations, Gothic Fiction, and Animation added
depth and diversity to the experience, ensuring something for every literary
palate to savour and engage with.
The day long Carnivalesque event captivated attendees with its array of interactive
experiences, including games that drew inspiration from literature, offering
attendees unique opportunities to engage with their beloved literary works and
adaptations. Embracing the carnivalesque theme, students expressed their
creativity by donning elaborate costumes depicting their favourite literary characters,
adding a vibrant and dynamic element to the festivities. Their lively
interactions with the crowd further enhanced the atmosphere, creating an
immersive and unforgettable experience for all.
Among the participants, the level of creativity and dedication was exceptional, with each costume reflecting a deep appreciation for the source material. In the end, the announcement of the winners added to the excitement of the day, with 6th year PYEN claiming the first prize, followed by a tie for the second prize between 6th year English Literature and 4th year English Literature. The third prize was awarded to 6th year PYEN B, showcasing the diverse talents and enthusiasm of the students. Overall, the Carnivalesque event proved to be a celebration of literature, creativity, and community spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
