LA-FETE 2024 : Embracing  ‘Zeitgeist: Spirit of the Times’






The Department of English at Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru, once again became the vibrant hub of literary and cultural exchange as it proudly hosted its much-anticipated Annual Intercollegiate Literary Fest, LA FETE 2024, It was organized on February 19, 2024, at the M4 Auditorium, which is in the Main Block. The event, a culmination of months of meticulous planning and unwavering dedication, brought together students, faculty, and literary enthusiasts from different institutions under one roof to celebrate the beauty of language creativity, and expression. This year's festivities was inaugurated by Ms. Sanjana Dipu, a luminary in the film industry and a proud alumna of Kristu Jayanti College, who graced the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guest. Ms. Sanjana's presence infused the event with an aura of prestige and glamour, while her heartfelt reminiscences of her own involvement as the coordinator of a similar event in 2021 added a touch of nostalgia and inspiration to the proceedings. After Ms. Sanjana inauguratd, Fr. Jais V. Thomas, he is the Financial Administrator of Kristu Jayanti College, underscored the profound significance of literary and cultural festivals in shaping the minds and character of young individuals.

The theme of The literary fest LA FETE 2024 was, "Zeitgeist: Spirit of the Times," served as a poignant reflection of the contemporary literary landscape, it highlighted the dynamic interplay between modern literature and cultural life. Through its meticulously curated lineup of 14 competitive events, the fest provided a platform for students to explore and showcase their creative aptitudes and literary expertise, while also fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the zeitgeist that defines our times. The energy and excitement that permeated the atmosphere were testament to the overwhelming success of LA FETE 2024, which attracted participation from a diverse array of students coming from esteemed institutions across the region. From the rhythmic cadence of slam poetry to the boundless imagination of creative writing, from the wit and humor of mad ads to the intellectual stimulation of quizzes and impromptu speeches, the event offered something for everyone, catering to a wide spectrum of interests and talents. The festivities also included immersive different contests like  jam sessions, engaging doodling sessions, captivating cosplay displays, and exhilarating treasure hunts, providing the participants with a myriad of opportunities to unleash their creativity and revel in the joy of self-expression. Additionally, enlightening personality assessments, spell bee contests, and expressive mime performances added depth and diversity to the lineup, ensuring that every facet of literary and cultural expression was celebrated and cherished.





It was evident that the spirit of creativity and ingenuity that permeated the event would continue to reverberate within the hearts and minds of all those who had the privilege of being a part of this unforgettable celebration of literature and culture. With each passing year, LA FETE reaffirms its status as not just a festival, but a testament.
